Florida is a popular destination for those leaving New York state.

A recent report found 33,565 people exchanged New York license plates for Florida plates between September 2020 and March 2021, a 32 percent increase from the same period one year prior.

Aside from year-round warmer weather and sunshine, Florida also boasts no state income tax.
